| Quanarius Ltd We are situated in the Kvarner region; a region where all four parts of the world meet. The snowy mountains in the North descend towards the sea, where to the South we find the largest Adriatic islands. To the East there is the long, indented Croatian coastline, with high plains in its hinterland. To the West, the sea of the bay of Kvarner touches the shore of the largest Croatian peninsula - Istra. In the centre of our region, along the bay of Kvarner, there's the city of Rijeka. A town with a stormy history once divided between Italy and the Yugoslav kingdom - resembling thus the history of Berlin. Through time it was also the major Hungarian port, but also the seat of the Prince of Krk. The most efficient naval weapon - the torpedo - was invented in Rijeka and produced for years in the factory 'Torpedo'. In Rijeka you can find the sanctuary of Our Lady of Trsat. In 2003 Rijeka became a 'small Vatican' because Pope John Paul II., during his third pastoral visit to Croatia, spent 5 days in the city.
